Collectors note

The Indian head motif is one of the most recognisable and historically recurring symbols in Ralph Lauren’s visual language. First appearing prominently in 1990s Polo Ralph Lauren collections, it became closely associated with the brand’s broader Americana and frontier mythology.

By the late 2000s, Ralph Lauren began phasing out this iconography from the core Polo line. Denim & Supply, launched in the early 2010s, briefly revisited these motifs as part of its archival-inspired, youth-oriented direction.

This sweatshirt belongs to the early Denim & Supply period (c. 2011–2013)—a short window before the motif was fully retired from active Ralph Lauren production. While not a 1990s Polo archive piece, it represents the final chapter of an iconic Ralph Lauren graphic language that is no longer produced today.

Visually strong, increasingly uncommon, and rooted in a recognisable RL lineage.
