The booklet opens with a message from president Joe Goggin, that was president of Red Wing Shoe Company between 1994 until 2000. Moreover, the last page of the booklet states Rev. 1 11/96, meaning the revision 1 dated November 1996.

Extremely rare boot in this condition. Highly collectible.

The leather of this boot is not Black Chrome (smooth finish) used for latest edition of 8137, but actually Black Skagway (oil tanned).

The Red Wing Shoes 8137 Moc Toe in Black Chrome is a Classic Red Wing Shoes moccasin style and is made in Red Wing, Minnesota. The Red Wing Moc Toe boot was originally designed for hunters and farmers in the early 1950s and was built to withstand hard labor and harsh weather conditions. The name Red Wing ‘Moc Toe' derives from ‘Moccasin', the traditional Algonquian Native word for the U-shape design of the toe. The Red Wing Shoes 8137 Moc Toe comes in Black Chrome leather with a smooth and polished look and has a Black Cushion Crepe Wedge outsole with Traction Tred for maximum grip and outstanding comfort. The Red Wing 8137 originally comes with round, black Taslan laces.
