Vintage mink fur coat with silk lining

As seen on the label, this fur coat was purchased on Regent Street in London from an independent boutique called ‘Lawrence Furriers’.

It is a vintage item passed down to me by my mother, so I am not sure of its exact age. It is entirely fur on the outside with a silk lining and a silk ribbon to close it. It also has a hook for fastening.

There are two tears/holes on the coat which can be seen in the photos. One is rather small and the other is larger. The smaller one is on the sleeve and the larger one is along the seam at the top of the arm where it was stitched to the shoulder. Both seem repairable by someone who can sew, but this is not something I have tried myself.

The coat has been stored in a non-smoking and pet-free home, in a plastic cover in a wardrobe, so it has been well looked after. As it is so old, there is a slight musty smell, so it might need airing or cleaning by a specialist fur coat cleaner. Again, this is not something I have done since storing it. It may just need to be aired/worn in the fresh air.

Other than that, the coat is beautiful and in good condition. It is a short style with cropped sleeves, and it looks very elegant when worn with dresses. I have also worn it with jeans for a more casual but chic look. I have taken a series of photos from all angles and also of the shape it has when worn.

As it comes from an independent vintage seller, there is no size but it would fit an 8-10. Very well made with professional stitching and finishing.

Manteau en fourrure de vison vintage avec doublure en soie

Comme on le voit sur l'étiquette, ce manteau de fourrure a été acheté à Regent Street à Londres dans une boutique indépendante appelée ‘Lawrence Furriers’.

C'est un article vintage qui m'a été transmis par ma mère, je ne suis donc pas sûre de son âge exact. Il est entièrement en fourrure à l'extérieur avec une doublure en soie et un ruban de soie pour le fermer. Il a également un crochet pour l'attacher.

Il y a deux déchirures/trous sur le manteau qui peuvent être vus sur les photos. L'un est plutôt petit et l'autre est plus grand. Le plus petit est sur la manche et le plus grand est le long de la couture en haut du bras où il a été cousu à l'épaule. Les deux semblent pouvoir être réparés par quelqu'un qui sait coudre, mais ce n'est pas quelque chose que j'ai essayé moi-même.

Le manteau a été stocké dans une maison non-fumeur et sans animaux, dans une housse en plastique dans une armoire, il a donc été bien entretenu. Comme il est si vieux, il y a une légère odeur de renfermé, il pourrait donc avoir besoin d'être aéré ou nettoyé chez un spécialiste du nettoyage de manteaux de fourrure. Encore une fois, ce n'est pas quelque chose que j'ai fait depuis que je l'ai rangé. Il a peut-être juste besoin d'être aéré/porté à l'air frais.

À part ça, le manteau est magnifique et en bon état. C'est un modèle court avec des manches coupées, et il est très élégant lorsqu'il est porté avec des robes. Je l'ai aussi porté avec un jean pour un look plus décontracté mais chic. J'ai pris une série de photos sous tous les angles et aussi de la forme qu'il a une fois porté.

Comme il provient d'un vendeur vintage indépendant, il n'y a pas de taille mais il conviendrait à un 8-10. Très bien fait avec des coutures et des finitions professionnelles.
