PAULINE TRIGERE Vintage Black & White Silk Evening Dress, SZ 10 NWOT

This fabulous vintage evening dress from Pauline Trigere features oversized sleeves each comprising two layered "petals" lined in horsehair trim (now synthetic) for body. The rest of the dress is a long shift that closes with a back zipper. There is no fabric label in the dress, but the shell is undoubtedly silk lined in black tissue silk chiffon. The particular union label in the dress was in use from 1974 to 1995, so I expect this dress is from the mid-1980s to early 1990s (around 1990 makes sense, because Trigere closed her ready-to-wear storefront in 1994 to focus on designing accessories.) The dress is labeled US size 10, and that size seems to be consistent with the measurements. Review the photos carefully because they too are part of the description.
