PAUL-LOUIS ORRIER Vintage Gold & Navy Art Deco Jacket & Navy Chiffon Dress SZ US 10
Very rare, early 1990s vintage evening ensemble from French couturier, Paul-Louis Orrier, comprises a magnificent asymmetrical jacquard jacket and a coordinating navy blue silk chiffon dress. The jacket has an intricate, deco-inspired design in gold lame, navy and white; a wide portrait collar; long sleeves that are flared at the cuffs; and three large gold-tone buttons for closure. The fabric is a combination of polyester (the gold portions), silk and wool. The companion dress is silk chiffon with a cowl neckline, ruched cummerbund, flexible boning in the bodice, spaghetti straps that cross in back, and multiple layers of chiffon that are gathered on the side. (Notice how the cut of the jacket follows the asymmetrical angles in the skirt in both front and back.) Labeled French size 44 which is considered equivalent to a US size 12. However, this is a vintage ensemble, and based primarily on the dress measurements, it is closest to a modern US size 10.
