Flirtation and eroticism were on American designer Tom Ford’s mind for his Fall/Winter 2002 Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche collection. 
Using stereotypical women’s fabrics for appropriate bourgeois dressing, such as faille, velvet and silk, he added irreverence and cheekiness to stylish pieces, done mostly in black. 
This stunning dress, with its fitted bodice and fluted sleeves, manages to be daring and contained at the same time, balancing its clear sex-appeal with a rigorous cut.
