The print is iconic!
This archive piece was designed by Gianni Versace using the famous pop art print with Marilyn Monroe/Betty Boop. Garments from this collection were presented on the runway in the 1991 collection (Spring/Summer) by Naomi Campbell. The Painted Ladys collection, called the SS91 Pop collection by Gianni Versace, references Warhol in a more stimulating and colourful way.
The print first appeared on the runway in Gianni's Spring-Summer 1991 collection and embodied the influence of media on fashion and culture.

The image became so synonymous with the Versace brand that Donatella Versace, Gianni's sister and subsequent CEO of the brand after Gianni's tragic death, would bring it back to the runway sixteen years later. In 2018, models returned to the runway wearing this incredible print.
