The richly polished gold-plating on these big circular brass earrings gives them an instant 'antiqued' look which is emphasised by the deeply textured metalwork and the elaborate braided edge. The central floral emblem is embedded in a dense coil of fine golden rope and at its centre is a single tiny sparkling white rhinestone to catch the light. The discs are securely mounted onto brass backing plates and the clips are secure but comfortable.
Both earrings have the B&W signature cartouche on the reverse.
These superb earrings are authentic very early B&W and superior, in my opinion, to the newer Butler and Wilson designs which have none of the charm, class and quality of these. I believe they date from the very early 1980s based on the style - particularly of the backs.
The earrings are in very good condition with just a few faint marks on the back of one earring.
